Christmas Adventures: Dusseldorf

We have never been to Dusseldorf even though we have been to a lot of the smaller towns in the area for Pokemon. When I was planning this trip this was one of the top Christmas Markets to go to and was open after Christmas so I was excited to explore.

Our first night we had a small wander by some of the markets and they were so pretty!

It was so nice and the city seemed fun so I was excited to explore more!

There was also another vegan patisserie, Isabella Glutenfreie Patisserie, so we had to get some treats! We tried the pistachio raspberry cake

And some macarons - delicious!

The next day was perfect for wandering

The bridges over Staftgraben were so much fun!

Each one had different animals so we had to spy on all of them

We found some cinnamon rolls from Cinnamood. They looked like they were going to be overly sweet, and we planned to just have a taste when we took a break by the water...but they were so good we ate them all! And not too sweet surprisingly (and I looked it up and there is a location here in Berlin!)

Having a sit by the water. This waterfront was so nice to walk along!

The market in Marktplatz

This area by the Hofgarten was so nice! The buildings were fun

And the park was fun too!

There were lots of Rose-Ringed Parakeets around and they were so chatty

And lots of other birds! New to us were the Egyptian Geese (seen in the middle here)

We got some vegan currywurst and fries for lunch from the Christmas market and sat by the water watching all the birds! It was so much fun!

A hot beverage in our fun mugs!

There was this steep green area to walk on top of some shops

Back to the waterfront

We went back to Isabella Glutenfreie Patisserie to get some more treats and this time we had the mixed berry cake (my favorite! I loved this so much! It was light and a bit tart and sweet and perfect!)

A cherry cake

And a chocolate cake. All of it was good, but the berry one I would have happily eaten more of!

After dinner it was time for another quick wander

Dusseldorf was a lot of fun. The Christmas markets were great, the city itself was pretty nice, I would definitely put this on the list to come back to

Campervan Adventures in Iceland: Ferry home - Tórshavn

The boat home was just as smooth and uneventful as the ride to Iceland. We left Iceland at 8pm Wed, Thurs at 3pm we arrive in Tórshavn and had a few hours to wander around, then back to the boat for the night, Friday was at sea, and Saturday we arrived in Hirtshals at 11am.

Campervan Adventures in Iceland: Final Thoughts

That is it for our Iceland adventures! I wanted to post one last wrap up just to say a few things I didn't put elsewhere, or organize my overall thoughts in one place.

The end

So it started raining on us for days and we cut out to come back to Seattle for a few days and wait for it to clear up.....and then Raymond decided he really did not want to go back out. So I at first was pretty upset cause I really wanted to get to Canada, or at least as far as we could while the weather was still nice this weekend. And I was feeling really like we were giving up for no reason. Like if one of us were injured or if I was hating it or something then I would have been better about it. But instead it was like the forecast called for gorgeous weather this weekend and we were just going to sit at home. I figured we could have at least gotten to the next stop and then only had one more chunk to do next year, but Raymond really didn't want to go back out so we decided not to. But hopefully by this time next year we will get the last 2 sections done, and maybe go back and do the section from white pass to snoqualmie as we went RIGHT by Mt Rainier and it is supposed to be g
