Campervan Adventures in Spain & Portugal: Seville & Portugal

Day 7 in Spain saw us up early to drive into Seville and spy. I knew it would be hot this day so I thought we would just spend a little bit of time here and then head on for a relaxing day at camp, but we really didn't get to camp till almost dinner time! I really enjoyed wandering around here!

We were super lucky and found a parking spot right next to our first stop - Parque de María Luisa

This park was so nice to wander around! There were all the clay sculptures

And lot of waterfountains

And all the plants and birds!

At the end of the park (from our direction) was Plaza de España which was gorgeous!

I'll be honest - I have never been a ceramic tile fan, but after seeing this place in Seville I was won over. It was beautiful!

There were all of these ceramic benches along the bottom with different places in Spain & Portugal highlighted

So much fun to wander through! We spent so much time in this park as we loved it!

Then wandered to the Cathedral and farther around town

Until we got to Setas de Sevilla - the farthest sight to see

We had stopped and gotten some chorizo red bell pepper empanadas from Empanadas Malvón for lunch along the way - they were really good

And a carrot cake cronut from Chök which...no. I do not understand this. I would much rather have a donut or a croissant and not something that is neither and way worse! The carrot cake was good

After lunch it was more wandering back towards the car

Along the river

Seville was so nice and definitely on the go back to list when it is not so hot! It was 30C by the time we left which is too much, but all the restaurants had these giant swamp coolers and things that misted you the entire time to try and help keep you cool.

Afterwards we headed on to camp (Camping Olhao) which was a place across the border in Portugal! It had a nice swimming pool so we had a swim! We saw this on one of the other campers and I thought it was silly. We did see some flying flamingos while swimming which was so much fun!! Tomorrow more Portugal adventures!

13.91km walked/7 flights (Seville is also very flat!)

Fall is here!

So not a whole lot has happened since I last posted. On our anniversary we were going to go on the boat tour of Berlin, but it was rainy and overcast so we decided to wait for a nice sunny day to do that. We had a few errands to run in the morning and then Raymond said about going to a museum. I saw the natural history museum and since I loved the one in Denver we decided to go there. You walk into this big room with lots of fossils and Dinosaurs! They didn't have a lot of things - this was the main room and is maim attraction of the museum. It was a tiny place, and they were doing renovations on a lot of the other exhibits. Apparently it is famous for having the largest dinosaur skeleton in the world! They also had these fun viewfinder things you could look through and if you point it at a dinosaur it would show this animation that filled them in and then showed them running around or eating or whatever. I thought it was fun. There was also a large room of rocks and m...

Den Haag, Netherlands Part 3

Our last day in Den Haag we wandered around just a bit more First stop - the Antique and Book market The ground was all seashells Mondrian on the water by the government buildings We decided to get lunch at Cafe Zeta which was in Grote Markt where they were having a free music festival, Sinester. Though we were there on the last day which was the kids day. It was fun as we were sitting outside and at the stage people were teaching kids how to play things and DJ and stuff.  I got the Hippie Buddah Bowl (Bulgur, sweet potato, bald, roasted chickpeas, tahini dressing, avocado, black sesame seeds) with the Fennel mint pear juice And Raymond had the Apple Pear Ginger juice and the Veggie Roast Bowl (mushrooms, red onion rings, rocket, Parmesan cheese, olive oil). Super tasty lunch! A stop at More Pastry for more treats - Peanut butter chocolate tart - so good! And the...

The final days in Paris

Our second day of our museum pass we used to go to the Louvre. It so huge - we spent from open to close there and just managed to see everything. It is also very confusing how to get from point a to point b - so many stairs and up and down floors just to see the one floor....good thing I had Raymond or I would have wondered aimlessly forever (but by the end I had the hang of it). We started with the medieval Louvre, Greek, Etruscan, Roman and Egyptian Antiquities. When we first walked in we were right behind a few tour groups, but somehow we lost them pretty quick and we able to walk around and brows without tons of people. I cannot imagine going during the summer when it is super crowded. I liked the different colors of stone on some of them After that we got some lunch nearby then headed back to look at the paintings Then my favorite part - decorative arts. So much fun pretty things. Replica of Napoleons apartment. Then ...
