Campervan Adventures in Spain & Portugal: Lagos & Salema

Today was another gorgeous nature day! The beaches in southern Portugal are amazing!

We walked from camp to the trail that runs along the cliffs - now Portugal was odd. The beaches and nature are just amazing, but the towns? In the south not so much. I didn't realize Portugal was such a poor country before going there. There were tons and tons of run down places right next to super expensive looking places. It was very odd and not what I was expecting.

But like I said the nature was amazing! This is just going to be lots and lots of photos from the cliffs or down on all the beaches!

So many shells!

We could have taken another boat tour from here, but we were limited on time (we had to check out of the campground after lunch) so we did not

Once we got back to camp we still had a bit of time so we went into Lagos to explore

And had some foccacia as a snack...which was just okay

The beach in town

Lagos was...meh. I would not go here for the town. You go here for the beaches! It was like it was lacking charm. There were some fun murals, but it was not very interesting to walk around in as there wasn't much to see.

Then it was on to Salema Beach to try and find the dinosaur tracks!

Found them!

We were planning on swimming, but the water was FREEZING! It was even too cold for Raymond! So we just enjoyed the rocks and beach for a while

Then it was on to camp (Camp de Campismo Orbitur Sagres) for the night.

18.46km walked/41 flights

Fall is here!

So not a whole lot has happened since I last posted. On our anniversary we were going to go on the boat tour of Berlin, but it was rainy and overcast so we decided to wait for a nice sunny day to do that. We had a few errands to run in the morning and then Raymond said about going to a museum. I saw the natural history museum and since I loved the one in Denver we decided to go there. You walk into this big room with lots of fossils and Dinosaurs! They didn't have a lot of things - this was the main room and is maim attraction of the museum. It was a tiny place, and they were doing renovations on a lot of the other exhibits. Apparently it is famous for having the largest dinosaur skeleton in the world! They also had these fun viewfinder things you could look through and if you point it at a dinosaur it would show this animation that filled them in and then showed them running around or eating or whatever. I thought it was fun. There was also a large room of rocks and m...

Den Haag, Netherlands Part 3

Our last day in Den Haag we wandered around just a bit more First stop - the Antique and Book market The ground was all seashells Mondrian on the water by the government buildings We decided to get lunch at Cafe Zeta which was in Grote Markt where they were having a free music festival, Sinester. Though we were there on the last day which was the kids day. It was fun as we were sitting outside and at the stage people were teaching kids how to play things and DJ and stuff.  I got the Hippie Buddah Bowl (Bulgur, sweet potato, bald, roasted chickpeas, tahini dressing, avocado, black sesame seeds) with the Fennel mint pear juice And Raymond had the Apple Pear Ginger juice and the Veggie Roast Bowl (mushrooms, red onion rings, rocket, Parmesan cheese, olive oil). Super tasty lunch! A stop at More Pastry for more treats - Peanut butter chocolate tart - so good! And the...

The final days in Paris

Our second day of our museum pass we used to go to the Louvre. It so huge - we spent from open to close there and just managed to see everything. It is also very confusing how to get from point a to point b - so many stairs and up and down floors just to see the one floor....good thing I had Raymond or I would have wondered aimlessly forever (but by the end I had the hang of it). We started with the medieval Louvre, Greek, Etruscan, Roman and Egyptian Antiquities. When we first walked in we were right behind a few tour groups, but somehow we lost them pretty quick and we able to walk around and brows without tons of people. I cannot imagine going during the summer when it is super crowded. I liked the different colors of stone on some of them After that we got some lunch nearby then headed back to look at the paintings Then my favorite part - decorative arts. So much fun pretty things. Replica of Napoleons apartment. Then ...
