Campervan Adventures in Spain & Portugal: Cathedral Beach & Pola de Somiedo

Today we were up early again to drive to Cathedral Beach. You can only access the beach around low tide so we had to get going early so we didn't miss it. We drove through some very heavy fog and rain so we were a bit concerned we wouldn't be able to see anything, but when we arrived it had cleared up and was just a little rainy.

The beach and rocks were nice, but sooo many people were there! Over the summer you have to get a ticket to go to limit the numbers, and even off season it was a lot

Little crabby in the rock! We saw lots of them!

These gooseneck barnacles were so cool! I've never seen them before! We spent so much time spying on all the things on the rocks!

We saw lots of Green Leaf Worms too! All the new marine friends!

Farther down the beach away from the cathedral arches it was almost empty! We had the beach basically to ourselves there

Then we headed to the top of the cliffs to go back to the car and found more friends!

After lunch we headed on to camp as I was exhausted from 2 early mornings and we didn't have enough time for the other hike I had planned.

Our camping spot was gorgeous!! Camping La Pomarada de Somiedo in Pola de Somiedo - I think we were the only ones staying there which is crazy as it was so nice!

Surrounded by mountains and it felt like we were back on our Bavaria trip - the mountains, it was much cooler, cute towns. It was great

We took a wander around and it was so nice! I love the beach, but I also love the mountains!

Such a nice area! We for sure need to go back here as we didn't get to spend enough time hiking in the mountains!

9.37km walked/3 flights

The final days in Paris

Our second day of our museum pass we used to go to the Louvre. It so huge - we spent from open to close there and just managed to see everything. It is also very confusing how to get from point a to point b - so many stairs and up and down floors just to see the one floor....good thing I had Raymond or I would have wondered aimlessly forever (but by the end I had the hang of it). We started with the medieval Louvre, Greek, Etruscan, Roman and Egyptian Antiquities. When we first walked in we were right behind a few tour groups, but somehow we lost them pretty quick and we able to walk around and brows without tons of people. I cannot imagine going during the summer when it is super crowded. I liked the different colors of stone on some of them After that we got some lunch nearby then headed back to look at the paintings Then my favorite part - decorative arts. So much fun pretty things. Replica of Napoleons apartment. Then ...

Campervan Adventures in Iceland: Day 11 - Kerid Crater & Reykjanes Peninsula

Day 11 our first stop was Kerid Crater. This was nice, but nothing special. You have to pay to get in, you can walk around the top and then down to the water, but if you are going to be seeing other craters then this is an easy one to skip. Nice, but nothing special.

Stupid Libraries.

So I only have six minutes left and just wasted a few seconds letting you know, but I need some assistance in getting things off our iPod onto the net. In the last town we were in, I came so close to getting it up only to be thwarted by the only damn cd -burner in the shop being broken. This is the problem: my iPod is mac formatted - the folks at Apple thought it would be hilarious to not include some sort of compatibility between windows and mac versions of iTunes to read the voice memos you record from any computer. If your iPod formatted on a mac (I believe it's HSF +), windows iTunes will tell you to reformat the buggar . And get this, the iPod records voice memos in old school PC style wav files. What the hell. Anyway, I can't test or install things on this library computer, but if someone checking the blog who is tech savvy could find a program to retrieve data from a mac formatted iPod from a windows machine - a program that doesn't use a god damn install ...
