Campervan Adventures in Spain & Portugal: Benagil Cave tour & Marinha Beach

Today was a Benagil Caves boat tour day from Albufeira!

The buildings looked like the 80's

First up we drove along the coast looking at all the fun rocks and caves

All the fun color!

The famous Benagil Cave from outside

And in. The only way to get here is through the water (boat, kayak, etc)

This cave was a background photo on Windows 95!

Then we went out to the open water to look for dolphins & we found them!! We were super lucky as we were the only boat on the morning tour to do so!

After watching the dolphins for a while it was time to head back to shore

We had spied on the restaurants at the dock when we first got there since we had time until the boat left and one, Fat Cats on the Marina, had a vegan burger. Since we got back just before lunchtime we decided to head down there and have a drink and a burger for lunch. This was...okay. Not great. The burger didn't really have any flavor.

Then it was off to explore one of the most popular beaches - Marinha Beach. Before coming on this trip I had read that Portugal does not like campers and today I really understood that. There were so many parking spots close to things that we could not park in (people with campers still did, but we did not want a few hundred Euro ticket for doing so) so we had to park a few km away and walk in.

This beach was gorgeous! And really all of this rocky coastline was why I wanted to plan this trip in the first place!

We had a swim since it was a hot day

Then back to the car to head to camp. It was such a nice day and so beautiful naturewise!

Fall is here!

So not a whole lot has happened since I last posted. On our anniversary we were going to go on the boat tour of Berlin, but it was rainy and overcast so we decided to wait for a nice sunny day to do that. We had a few errands to run in the morning and then Raymond said about going to a museum. I saw the natural history museum and since I loved the one in Denver we decided to go there. You walk into this big room with lots of fossils and Dinosaurs! They didn't have a lot of things - this was the main room and is maim attraction of the museum. It was a tiny place, and they were doing renovations on a lot of the other exhibits. Apparently it is famous for having the largest dinosaur skeleton in the world! They also had these fun viewfinder things you could look through and if you point it at a dinosaur it would show this animation that filled them in and then showed them running around or eating or whatever. I thought it was fun. There was also a large room of rocks and m...

Den Haag, Netherlands Part 3

Our last day in Den Haag we wandered around just a bit more First stop - the Antique and Book market The ground was all seashells Mondrian on the water by the government buildings We decided to get lunch at Cafe Zeta which was in Grote Markt where they were having a free music festival, Sinester. Though we were there on the last day which was the kids day. It was fun as we were sitting outside and at the stage people were teaching kids how to play things and DJ and stuff.  I got the Hippie Buddah Bowl (Bulgur, sweet potato, bald, roasted chickpeas, tahini dressing, avocado, black sesame seeds) with the Fennel mint pear juice And Raymond had the Apple Pear Ginger juice and the Veggie Roast Bowl (mushrooms, red onion rings, rocket, Parmesan cheese, olive oil). Super tasty lunch! A stop at More Pastry for more treats - Peanut butter chocolate tart - so good! And the...

The final days in Paris

Our second day of our museum pass we used to go to the Louvre. It so huge - we spent from open to close there and just managed to see everything. It is also very confusing how to get from point a to point b - so many stairs and up and down floors just to see the one floor....good thing I had Raymond or I would have wondered aimlessly forever (but by the end I had the hang of it). We started with the medieval Louvre, Greek, Etruscan, Roman and Egyptian Antiquities. When we first walked in we were right behind a few tour groups, but somehow we lost them pretty quick and we able to walk around and brows without tons of people. I cannot imagine going during the summer when it is super crowded. I liked the different colors of stone on some of them After that we got some lunch nearby then headed back to look at the paintings Then my favorite part - decorative arts. So much fun pretty things. Replica of Napoleons apartment. Then ...
