Den Haag, Netherlands Part 2 - Giving the beach another try and more wandering

The morning after our disaster of a trip to the beach I said okay, why don't we give this beach thing another try since it is early and not too hot yet. It was MUCH better than the day prior

Giant hotel on the beach

Signs so you know where your stuff it

We still didn't stay that long at the beach as it was just okay

Statues outside the theatre

Can't tell me what to do!

Art downtown

A urinal in the middle of the park - perfect...

Old Ministry of Justice

Mauritshuis Museum

The Knights' Hall

Fountain in Binnenhof

Water by the government buildings

Prison gate museum

Fancy vegan treats at More Pastry

Taking a break outside More

With a brownie

And a berry tart - delicious!

Noordeinde Palace

Modrian is everywhere!

Taking a break in the Palace Gardens

With fun art

Lunch at Quinta Verde, which I just looked up and they are now closed permanently :( This was super tasty!

Our hotel on the left

Waiting for our dinner foods at Vegetarian Snackbar

Milkshake

Snack plate - 3 croquettes, 3 nuggets, 2 falafel, 2 kibbuhling

And a burger with salad and fries - so tasty! We tried to get back here to try more things, but alas we did not have enough time

Can't tell Raymond what to do either!

After dinner we headed down to the Peace Palace

This was really cool - it was a peace thing and each country of the world is represented by a different stone around the edge

They had a sign with labels for the countries so you could see what they were. I've never seen anything like that before

Sun setting at the palace

Sunset over the park across from our hotel. All in all a much better day than the day prior!

The final days in Paris

Our second day of our museum pass we used to go to the Louvre. It so huge - we spent from open to close there and just managed to see everything. It is also very confusing how to get from point a to point b - so many stairs and up and down floors just to see the one floor....good thing I had Raymond or I would have wondered aimlessly forever (but by the end I had the hang of it). We started with the medieval Louvre, Greek, Etruscan, Roman and Egyptian Antiquities. When we first walked in we were right behind a few tour groups, but somehow we lost them pretty quick and we able to walk around and brows without tons of people. I cannot imagine going during the summer when it is super crowded. I liked the different colors of stone on some of them After that we got some lunch nearby then headed back to look at the paintings Then my favorite part - decorative arts. So much fun pretty things. Replica of Napoleons apartment. Then ...

Campervan Adventures in Iceland: Day 11 - Kerid Crater & Reykjanes Peninsula

Day 11 our first stop was Kerid Crater. This was nice, but nothing special. You have to pay to get in, you can walk around the top and then down to the water, but if you are going to be seeing other craters then this is an easy one to skip. Nice, but nothing special.

Stupid Libraries.

So I only have six minutes left and just wasted a few seconds letting you know, but I need some assistance in getting things off our iPod onto the net. In the last town we were in, I came so close to getting it up only to be thwarted by the only damn cd -burner in the shop being broken. This is the problem: my iPod is mac formatted - the folks at Apple thought it would be hilarious to not include some sort of compatibility between windows and mac versions of iTunes to read the voice memos you record from any computer. If your iPod formatted on a mac (I believe it's HSF +), windows iTunes will tell you to reformat the buggar . And get this, the iPod records voice memos in old school PC style wav files. What the hell. Anyway, I can't test or install things on this library computer, but if someone checking the blog who is tech savvy could find a program to retrieve data from a mac formatted iPod from a windows machine - a program that doesn't use a god damn install ...
