The Maldives day 4 at The Adaaran Prestige Vadoo

Our third day was another relaxing lazy day for me. We got up and had breakfast then went to go back to our room, but they were cleaning so we hung out at the end of the pier until they were done. It wasn't windy so you could see all the fishes along the walkway!

So many fishes! And so pretty!

It might be hard to see (I think if you click the photo you will get a larger version), but there are lots of tiny black and white striped fish in the coral there. They were so tiny!

The end of the pier

The island from the pier - it was really small

Trying to get the difference between with and without my sunglasses...

We got back to the room and Raymond went snorkeling while I swam in out little pool!

His goggles kept fogging up so I searched for how to make it so they didn't. Ended up cleaning them with some toothpaste and that worked perfectly!

A video posted by Raymond May Jr (@octatone) on
Here is a video from Raymond's time snorkeling - if you want read time photos as we travel you can follow him

I could spy on the fishes from the pool

Shark!

There were lots of fish by the steps into the water so I went down and actually put my hand in the water to try and take photos of them!

Didn't get them most of the time...

...but occasionally caught one!

Just putting my hand in the water when they were swimming right there (and the black, white, yellow ones would come up towards my hand) was a big step for me!

We swam/snorkeled until lunchtime. Some asparagus thing for Raymond

And a salad for me to start

Smoked artichoke soup - delicious! The soups were always amazing

Pasta with red sauce for me

And cheesy risotto for Raymond

Afterwards we had some drinks in the bar

And watched the fish outside

Then back to the room for more snorkeling/swimming! Raymond took lots of videos of the fish while snorkeling, but I don't know what he is going to do with them.

And a bit of reading in the pool

Sun going behind the clouds

Dinner was a green bean pomegranate other veggie starter salad

Gazpacho

Bread with oil and yummy spices to dip them in

And mushroom ravioli. Delicious! But so much food!

Then back to the room for the night. It was so nice to not have anything to do all day except relax! I miss the Maldives!

The final days in Paris

Our second day of our museum pass we used to go to the Louvre. It so huge - we spent from open to close there and just managed to see everything. It is also very confusing how to get from point a to point b - so many stairs and up and down floors just to see the one floor....good thing I had Raymond or I would have wondered aimlessly forever (but by the end I had the hang of it). We started with the medieval Louvre, Greek, Etruscan, Roman and Egyptian Antiquities. When we first walked in we were right behind a few tour groups, but somehow we lost them pretty quick and we able to walk around and brows without tons of people. I cannot imagine going during the summer when it is super crowded. I liked the different colors of stone on some of them After that we got some lunch nearby then headed back to look at the paintings Then my favorite part - decorative arts. So much fun pretty things. Replica of Napoleons apartment. Then ...

Campervan Adventures in Iceland: Day 11 - Kerid Crater & Reykjanes Peninsula

Day 11 our first stop was Kerid Crater. This was nice, but nothing special. You have to pay to get in, you can walk around the top and then down to the water, but if you are going to be seeing other craters then this is an easy one to skip. Nice, but nothing special.

Stupid Libraries.

So I only have six minutes left and just wasted a few seconds letting you know, but I need some assistance in getting things off our iPod onto the net. In the last town we were in, I came so close to getting it up only to be thwarted by the only damn cd -burner in the shop being broken. This is the problem: my iPod is mac formatted - the folks at Apple thought it would be hilarious to not include some sort of compatibility between windows and mac versions of iTunes to read the voice memos you record from any computer. If your iPod formatted on a mac (I believe it's HSF +), windows iTunes will tell you to reformat the buggar . And get this, the iPod records voice memos in old school PC style wav files. What the hell. Anyway, I can't test or install things on this library computer, but if someone checking the blog who is tech savvy could find a program to retrieve data from a mac formatted iPod from a windows machine - a program that doesn't use a god damn install ...
