The Maldives day 2 at The Adaaran Prestige Vadoo

Since we had flown overnight to get to the Maldives I had no idea how long we would sleep that first night. We were both exhausted and went to bed early, then day 2 started off with a bit of a frantic getting ready so we didn't miss breakfast. I woke up and looked at the clock and it was 9:30 - and breakfast was only served until 10! So I told Raymond we have to go if we want food!

We had ordered Indian breakfast the night before. It was so so delicious! Dal, an eggplant/squash/carrot dish, and roti. It was a lot of food, but we loved it!

The decorations outside the restaurant. All made from Styrofoam. After breakfast we went to lounge on the beach for a bit

Triggerfish warning!

Relaxing on the beach. We found some lounge chairs under an umbrella so we could sit, drink out mocktails, read, and swim whenever we wanted

Lizard friend in the garden

I did get in the water for a little bit!

Raymond went snorkeling and took some photos of the fishes he saw!

Lunch was a veggie shawarma with fries

And veggie couscous

Raymond was ready for food after all the snorkeling

After lunch it was back to the beach and the pool for swimming until the sun started getting us. Then back to our room to hang out in our plunge pool for a bit

We did go down for the fish feeding and there was a couple standing next to us. The lady said "You said you wanted to see a shark well there is one" to which he replied, in a very snotty voice, " Yeah but I wanted to see a big shark and that is a small on." They were having a good time...

Stingray came back - it was harder to see the fish from the dock with the glare. Much better from the bar from above

And back to our pool for sunset

Sometimes I can't decide what photos to keep and which ones to take out so I just leave them all in...

For the second day in a row you could watch the sun go behind the horizon, though I think these first two days were the only ones. Every other day it went behind some clouds low on the horizon, but was still gorgeous!

The decor next to the restaurant

Dinner was eggplant soup - delicious!! I think they used a lot of cashew creams in the vegetarian things. So so good.

And mushroom ravioli

With fruit for dessert for me

And chocolate mousse for Raymond. It was all so delicious!

We did have a jacuzzi in our room so we decided to try it out after dinner...only it took forever to fill up so by the time it was ready I was so sleepy! I didn't stay in long much to Raymond's dismay. It was a lovely day of relaxing, reading and swimming. The island is not very big, but it was so nice to be in such a beautiful place and not have anything to do!

Fall is here!

So not a whole lot has happened since I last posted. On our anniversary we were going to go on the boat tour of Berlin, but it was rainy and overcast so we decided to wait for a nice sunny day to do that. We had a few errands to run in the morning and then Raymond said about going to a museum. I saw the natural history museum and since I loved the one in Denver we decided to go there. You walk into this big room with lots of fossils and Dinosaurs! They didn't have a lot of things - this was the main room and is maim attraction of the museum. It was a tiny place, and they were doing renovations on a lot of the other exhibits. Apparently it is famous for having the largest dinosaur skeleton in the world! They also had these fun viewfinder things you could look through and if you point it at a dinosaur it would show this animation that filled them in and then showed them running around or eating or whatever. I thought it was fun. There was also a large room of rocks and m...

The final days in Paris

Our second day of our museum pass we used to go to the Louvre. It so huge - we spent from open to close there and just managed to see everything. It is also very confusing how to get from point a to point b - so many stairs and up and down floors just to see the one floor....good thing I had Raymond or I would have wondered aimlessly forever (but by the end I had the hang of it). We started with the medieval Louvre, Greek, Etruscan, Roman and Egyptian Antiquities. When we first walked in we were right behind a few tour groups, but somehow we lost them pretty quick and we able to walk around and brows without tons of people. I cannot imagine going during the summer when it is super crowded. I liked the different colors of stone on some of them After that we got some lunch nearby then headed back to look at the paintings Then my favorite part - decorative arts. So much fun pretty things. Replica of Napoleons apartment. Then ...
