Malmo & Copenhagen 2016

Back in March we headed up to Malmo again for a roller derby tournament. We had gone last year for the same tournament and one of the biggest draws? Pizza salad! Yes, Raymond also thinks I am ridiculous to be so excited about pizza salad. I didn't take that many photos in Malmo as we were mostly just at the tournament, but we did spend a day in Copenhagen before coming home. This time we didn't use the public transportation in Malmo and decided to just walk instead. Everything is fairly close and it is much easier. Above is our lunch from Pizzeria Rex - A taco pizza and a gyro pizza with the aforementioned pizza salad! So tasty

We were going to get burgers for dinner, but the burger place was packed as they were running a special for roller derby people. So we headed to a nearby Indian place instead and had some tasty Indian foods.

The second day it snowed! Just a little bit, but I loved it! This is the view from our room

And another.

We went back to the burger place - The Vegan Bar - for lunch as we figured it might not be as crowded (and we were right). They had a special burger with onion rings and lots of delicious things on it. So good.

Walking back to roller derby after lunch

Another grey day in Malmo. If you look at my photos from last year they are the same.

Roller derby!

After the weekend of roller derby it was off to Copenhagen for the day before our flight. We wanted to get there early enough to take the free tour so we were up and about and ready to go.

I totally didn't bring the right clothes for walking around in the cold. I was freezing!! I didn't bring my winter coat because...well I blamed it on just being in CA where it was warm. So I was all messed up. But yeah next time I need to be prepared! Now here are some photos from our tour around Copenhagen.

After the tour it was time for lunch and hot beverages to get warm. We went to Kalaset and had burgers - chickpea patties with tahini mint dressing, coleslaw, grilled zucchini and peppers, and chili jam. Served with roasted potatoes. These were amazing. Definitely goes on the list for when we are in Copenhagen again.

We also had a slice of chocolate cake. Yum!

After lunch we just wandered around - and found the Lego store!

Then it was off to the airport for our flight home. We got there early and looked to see if we could find some dinner. We had falafel salad which was alright. A bit dry, but it was one of the only vegan options and it was fine enough. So there you have our weekend in Malmo/Copenhagen

Fall is here!

So not a whole lot has happened since I last posted. On our anniversary we were going to go on the boat tour of Berlin, but it was rainy and overcast so we decided to wait for a nice sunny day to do that. We had a few errands to run in the morning and then Raymond said about going to a museum. I saw the natural history museum and since I loved the one in Denver we decided to go there. You walk into this big room with lots of fossils and Dinosaurs! They didn't have a lot of things - this was the main room and is maim attraction of the museum. It was a tiny place, and they were doing renovations on a lot of the other exhibits. Apparently it is famous for having the largest dinosaur skeleton in the world! They also had these fun viewfinder things you could look through and if you point it at a dinosaur it would show this animation that filled them in and then showed them running around or eating or whatever. I thought it was fun. There was also a large room of rocks and m...

Though we were there on the last day which was the kids day. It was fun as we were sitting outside and at the stage people were teaching kids how to play things and DJ and stuff.  I got the Hippie Buddah Bowl (Bulgur, sweet potato, bald, roasted chickpeas, tahini dressing, avocado, black sesame seeds) with the Fennel mint pear juice And Raymond had the Apple Pear Ginger juice and the Veggie Roast Bowl (mushrooms, red onion rings, rocket, Parmesan cheese, olive oil). The final days in Paris

Our second day of our museum pass we used to go to the Louvre. It so huge - we spent from open to close there and just managed to see everything. It is also very confusing how to get from point a to point b - so many stairs and up and down floors just to see the one floor....good thing I had Raymond or I would have wondered aimlessly forever (but by the end I had the hang of it). We started with the medieval Louvre, Greek, Etruscan, Roman and Egyptian Antiquities. When we first walked in we were right behind a few tour groups, but somehow we lost them pretty quick and we able to walk around and brows without tons of people. I cannot imagine going during the summer when it is super crowded. I liked the different colors of stone on some of them After that we got some lunch nearby then headed back to look at the paintings Then my favorite part - decorative arts. So much fun pretty things. Replica of Napoleons apartment. Then ...
