Paris here we come!

So not much to update since the last time. I'm trying to think what we even did the past two weeks. Well last weekend was roller derby nationals in Atlanta, GA and is the first time we haven't gone to nationals in...4 years! We have gone the past 4 years so it was a little sad not to be there. However they do stream it live for a small fee so we did that so last weekend lots of roller derby was watched! Luckily it was on the east coast so it was only 6 hours difference so we didn't stay up too too late (Sat I think we got to bed at like 3am) and we got to watch Gotham win again! It was fun watching from the couch, but I much prefer to be there. I mean when I would be yelling at the TV and clapping and cheering when something good happened and it is just not the same when it is just me doing that. The claps echo in the room...Next year is going to be in Milwaukee which I don't really know anything about, but apparently they have a lot of vegan food. We shall see if we make it there.

Let's see what else....At Raymond's coworkers housewarming party I was talking with a lady who just started her own business and she was saying she needed help with accounting things. We met last week and I started helping her with a budget and such and I am pretty excited about it. She doesn't have a lot to spend, but it is fun and gives me something to do. The plan is to meet once a week and go over everything and help out where I can. Fun!

Hmm....That is about it I guess. Oh one other thing - Raymond came home last week and told me how they forced his team lead to take a vacation. Apparently he hadn't taken time off in a while and was looking a little stressed so he has to go take some time off. Crazy! We also went out to eat last Friday and ran into one of Raymond's coworkers and his girlfriend I think. We were talking and Raymond was saying he hasn't used any of his vacation yet and they were just like what?!? You got here in June and you haven't taken a vacation yet?? Which is just completely different from the you are going on vacation?? mentality I am used to. Different in a good way.

Alright well Raymond is home now so off to get packed and ready to head to Paris in the morning!! I am so excited! We are going to eat lots of good food hopefully and wander. It is going to be nice having a week in the city as last time it was only 2 days. Then next weekend we have the first European roller derby tournament to go to right here in Berlin! I am very excited!! I should have lots to post about once we get back :)

The final days in Paris

Our second day of our museum pass we used to go to the Louvre. It so huge - we spent from open to close there and just managed to see everything. It is also very confusing how to get from point a to point b - so many stairs and up and down floors just to see the one floor....good thing I had Raymond or I would have wondered aimlessly forever (but by the end I had the hang of it). We started with the medieval Louvre, Greek, Etruscan, Roman and Egyptian Antiquities. When we first walked in we were right behind a few tour groups, but somehow we lost them pretty quick and we able to walk around and brows without tons of people. I cannot imagine going during the summer when it is super crowded. I liked the different colors of stone on some of them After that we got some lunch nearby then headed back to look at the paintings Then my favorite part - decorative arts. So much fun pretty things. Replica of Napoleons apartment. Then ...

Campervan Adventures in Iceland: Day 11 - Kerid Crater & Reykjanes Peninsula

Day 11 our first stop was Kerid Crater. This was nice, but nothing special. You have to pay to get in, you can walk around the top and then down to the water, but if you are going to be seeing other craters then this is an easy one to skip. Nice, but nothing special.

Stupid Libraries.

So I only have six minutes left and just wasted a few seconds letting you know, but I need some assistance in getting things off our iPod onto the net. In the last town we were in, I came so close to getting it up only to be thwarted by the only damn cd -burner in the shop being broken. This is the problem: my iPod is mac formatted - the folks at Apple thought it would be hilarious to not include some sort of compatibility between windows and mac versions of iTunes to read the voice memos you record from any computer. If your iPod formatted on a mac (I believe it's HSF +), windows iTunes will tell you to reformat the buggar . And get this, the iPod records voice memos in old school PC style wav files. What the hell. Anyway, I can't test or install things on this library computer, but if someone checking the blog who is tech savvy could find a program to retrieve data from a mac formatted iPod from a windows machine - a program that doesn't use a god damn install ...
